The Process

Therapy takes place in planned, regular sessions of 50 minutes. The number of sessions and how often will be agreed between us, dependant on individual circumstances. The number and frequency of sessions is up to you and you can stop whenever you like.

Face To Face Counselling

Therapy may take place face-to-face in my confidential therapy room, located between Thornbury and Berkeley. This room provides a warm and comfortable safe place to explore, discuss and reflect aspects of who you are and the unique issues you are struggling with.

Please Note: Face-to-face sessions in my therapy room are currently unavailable due to covid restrictions.

Walk & Talk Counselling

“Walk and talk can be mindfulness-based body oriented therapy which can make it easier for you to relax, stop ruminating, release physical tension, breathe deep and receive mind-body insight while processing experiences in a different way.”

Walk and Talk Counselling

Mental health charity Mind carried out extensive research a few years ago, which showed that walking in the countryside could help reduce depression and anxiety. In their survey, they reported that 71% of respondents felt decreased depression and less tense after a “green” walk, while 90% felt their self-esteem increase after a country walk.”

Online & Telephone Counselling

It might feel scary or uncertain to have some session’s online (zoom) or by telephone but these can be as effective as meeting face to face. My goal is to be able to create a safe and contained space to work with you. I am used to working remotely both online and via telephone to positive effect.

“Being behind a screen creates anonymity to a certain extent which works wonders online. When we have the opportunity to separate our actions from our real world and identity, we may feel less vulnerable about opening up. Invisibility gives us the courage to go places and do things that we otherwise wouldn’t, because not being seen can free us up.”

If you have decided to choose to go forward in your counselling journey with me, call or email to find out more about how I work and how we can work together. We can then set up an initial session to discuss your needs, expectations and goals. If I am the therapist for you, further sessions can be organised.

TIP:  We have written articles on what you should expect from counselling sessions.
